Beautiful Details class

The Altenew Beautiful Details class is my 16th class from Altenew Academy. This was by far the most inspired class. Not only did the instructor have a lot of tips and tricks, the card examples and especially the color combinations she used were inspiring. One of the examples was no line coloring on vellum. Please read on for how I put together this card.

Altenew class on beyond basic backgrounds

So it begins...moving onto level 2 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I’m really enjoying how these classes are providing such interesting challenges that are pushing me to rethink how I use my current supplies. The class, Beyond Basic Backgrounds, had a lot of different ideas in building backgrounds using stamps, foil, inks, bleaching and dies that I was inspired to try a few ideas. In this card, I built a background using the Altenew warped speed stencil and gold transfer foil. Read along for the process of making this card.

AECP Level 1 final project

Hello and thank you for joining me on today's post. I have been working through the Altenew Educator Certification Program and have completed 10 lessons within the program and submitted a total of 10 posts with 19 card designs. I have been very inspired by the classes I have been taking on Altenewacademy.com. For today's card, I was issued a challenge to make a card that could be suitable for a masculine card or for a teenager and have the theme of either birthday or encouragement or congratulations. In building this card, I used techniques and inspiration from four different classes at Altenew Academy: For the guys, Easy Die Cutting, Let it shine and Easy Ink Blending. Please read along for how I put together this card.

Stamp Kits

Hero Arts has been putting out monthly stamp kits that include: stamps, dies, paper and some embellishments for over a two years now. It is a great way to get a set of exclusive stamps and accouterments for a great price. The Kits sell out quickly so you need to either pay for a subscription or order quickly. I like ordering these because I come up with a ton of ideas of what to do with them quickly. Here are a few of my ideas using the August Kit highlighting: die inlay, stencils and watercoloring.

Using backgrounds as a focal point

Waffle Flower Crafts last release contained a stamp set made for me: Plaid Play. This stamp set features strips of stamps in various widths and textures which when combined, can create a plaid background. I also love the idea of using some of these solid lines as borders on my cards. I had to get this set immediately.
