Hello and thank you for visiting my website. This website grew out of a need to share my love of crafting and my story of how crafting saved me from stress. I hope you find the information helpful and are inspired to create your authentic self.
The beginning
I started scrapbooking when a group of girls from work caught the bug about 15 years ago and infected me as well. At that time scrapbooking was a way to document my travels, treasure memories and play with paper and stickers. Over the years, my life changed drastically and my interest in scrapbooking waned. It was too difficult to find time, space and even to finish a scrapbooking project. So, I just let my materials languish and went on with my life.
Stress takes over
Even through all the upheavals, moves, and tribulations, I loved to craft but just didn't have the time or space. During our last move, I promised myself that I would finally have a dedicated space for crafting. So when we looked for houses, it was a priority for the house to have space for crafting. Finally, I ended up with a space, but there was just never enough time. With little ones, a job, household duties, my scrap-land went unused. At the same time, stress began to take over my life. I didn't feel present with my children, my husband or within my job. I felt happy when I was in my craft room, making birthday gifts for my children's friends and creating items for my children and for the house. Crafting was making me happy and relieving stress, but how could I make time for it?
The present
As much as I tried to resist it, I needed scheduling. Through much trial and error, I came up with a schedule. First I started with my time; making time for exercise and crafting. I used this planner from Bloom Planners that I found on Amazon. I like this planner because I can track my water, meals, make to-do lists, healthy habits and acts of kindness. I started to schedule housework, meals and what I needed to do for my job. The schedule still needs tweaking, but it has changed everything and has helped me to find lost time. Organization within my craft room has also helped me to find lost time. You canlink to my craft room tourto see how and where I work. Now, we have a mainly well oiled scheduled house. Everyone does their part and I do not feel guilty taking the time to craft because I have built in the time. I enjoy crafting with my children and they have a space that is their own within scrap-land. My life will never be stress free but at least I can enjoy creating and being present with my family.
