Altenew March 2020 stamp, die and paper release
Hello friends! Thank you for joining me on this hop to celebrate another amazing release from Altenew. I was really giddy over all of the items in this release and had so much inspiration. If you are following along on the hop, you have just come from the incredibly talented Erum Tasneem from VIBGYOR Krafts and your next stop is the wonderfully classic designs of Ashlea Cornell from Ashlea Crafts. Don't forget to leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and comments on each designers blog for your chance to win a gift card to Altenew.
My favorites in this set are the paper. Although I love playing with stamps and doing a lot of techniques, I love paper. I decided to showcase the Cheerful Meadow 6x6 Paper Pack to show you how to get a lot of bang from these beautiful double sided papers. Read on for how I used this paper pack along with some other goodies in the release to make three cards. For your convenience I have included affiliate links to the products I have used to make these products and some products were supplied by Altenew.
Project 1: Background
The Cheerful Meadow paper pack is filled with 24 sheets of double sided papers. As these are double sided sheets, you get 4 images of each of the 12 designs. There is a beautiful rainbow paper that I decided to use to showcase the very graphic Happy Birthday to You stamp set. The Happy Birthday sentiments are stamped in an ombre fashion using inks from the Rock Collection set: Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond and Pure Graphite. I then used Altenew Crisp Clear Embossing Powder over the letters to give them shine and interest. To add some accents, I used some small pearls in my stash and my Altenew Artist markers in the Rock Collection colors to color the pearls so they would match the sentiment colors. I love the bold and graphic design of this card and it is just ready to wish someone a special day.
Project 2: Focal Point
Each design in the Cheerful Meadows paper pack is just so bold with luxurious colors. I decided to use a piece that already had a large floral image. To balance the image, I stamped the medium circle from the Spheres & Spirals stamp set in Blush ink. This stamp set is a great one to build interest and use in a multitude of ways. To make the floral image pop off the page and give it some dimension, I used an Altenew Artist marker in Limestone to trace around the left side of the image and give it a drop shadow. The word Joy was cut out using my Altenew Mini Blossom die cutting machine which is such a helpful tool in the craftroom to quickly cut out letters from the Fine Alphabet Die Set. The letters were cut out from black paper and also a coordinating paper from the Cheerful Meadow paper pack. The supporting sentiments are from the Line Art Stamp Set and were stamped in Altenew Black Obsidian Pigment ink which gives such a nice crisp image.
Project 3: Border
Some of the paper designs in the Cheerful Meadow paper pack had some nice repeating patterns which I thought would be great as an accent border. For that border, I chose a pattern with peach, yellow and green and cut a strip that was about 1 3/4" wide and adhered that to my white card base. I then added a strip of Altenew Golden Edge thin washi tape for some interest. On a piece of vellum, I stamped the outline flower and leaf images from the Altenew Fabulous Florets layering stamp set with embossing ink and then added Altenew Gold Crisp embossing powders. On the back of the petals, I used Altenew Artist markers to color in the images. Coloring on vellum gives an ethereal look which gives this design some lightness. For the sentiment, I used a coordinating paper and the Altenew Fine Alphabet dies to cut out the word, Thanks. These letters were backed with some letters cut from black cardstock. The supporting sentiment is from the Fabulous Florets stamp set and was stamped in Altenew Obsidian black pigment ink. I love how the colors from that patterned paper really set the tone for this card and I was able to use other Altenew products to coordinate the colors.

These are gorgeous. I think they are a great use of the papers. I don't use as much printed paper in my card designs as I used to but these are really a temptation!

You truly made some awesome cards but my favorite is the Happy Birthday card you made using different stripes of colored paper and stamped in black.
