Hello! it is the first of the month and you know what that means! A new Build-A-Flower release from Altenew. This month is the Laelia Orchid which is a stunning flower which I thought was best on a slimline card. If you are hopping along you came from everybody's favorite crafter, Erum Tasneem. Your next stop is my fellow crafty Altenew Educator, Colleen Balija.
Altenew generously supplied this stamp set for me so I could share inspiration with you. Please read on for how I used the Laelia to make a delicate and pastel slim line card. Slim Line Card
The Laelia flowers are delicate with longer stems that I thought would look great on a slimline card. To give my flowers a background that would make them pop, I took a piece of watercolor paper and cut it down to 8"x 3.5". I added water and then added Dusk Altenew Watercolor Brush marker ink and continued with water until the panel was covered. I then stamped a large vase from the Versatile Vases 2 set using Obsidian Black ink. The sentiment is from Sentiment Strips 2 and was stamped in embossing ink and then in Altenew Antique Gold Embossing powder. The sentiment was die cut with the Featured Sentiment Dies and attached with foam tape.
For the flowers, I wanted a soft look like a no-line watercolor look. I stamped the outline image in Vanilla Cream. The gray/purple flower used inks from Rock Collection and Enchanted Garden. The pink flower used inks from Cherry Blossom. The leaves used inks from Green Valley. The flowers were cut out with the coordinating dies. I then added these flowers to the card front and added the base to a slim line card.

I really like that background, it makes the card look like a scene where the background is the sky.
