All About Layering 2
Building a layered stamped imageFor this card I wanted the layered stamped hydrangea to stand out. These images are large and that’s one of the things I like about Altenew’s layered florals-it’s really all you need to make a stunning card. The Garden Hydrangea set has four layers to it. I made two blue flowers and two pink flowers. The blue flowers were stamped in: Hero Arts Soft Sky, Cornflower, Deep Blue and Navy. The pink flowers were stamped in: Soft Pink, Bubblegum, Ultra Pink and Burgundy. The leaves had three layers and I used: Momento Pear Tart, Hero Arts Field Greens and Hero Arts Green Hills. To stamp these images, I used my MISTI which helped with placement and allowed me to see where the stamp was going to land so I could shift the stamp as needed. Building the cardAfter stamping the hydrangeas and leaves, I fussy cut the images. On Neenah Solar White 80lb, I used different embossing folders from Cuttlebug to emboss the backgrounds and provide some interest to the white space. I used Sugar Pea Designs Card Front Builder border dies to die cut 2/3 of the background. I then mounted the cut backgrounds to A2 sized card bases made from Gina K cardstock. The sentiments were heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder. The sentiments are from different Altenew stamp sets. Altenew has great genuine sentiments. Using Thermo Web/Gina K foam tape and squares, I adhered the hydrangeas and leaves to the embossed panel. I was so inspired from Altenew's All About Layering 2 class that I made another card using the Simon Says Stamp/Altenew Collaboration from Stamptember 2017, Fabulous You. This layering set has an outline image and images to fill in. I used gold embossing powder for the outline stamp and Hero Arts Passion Flower for the flowers and Hero Arts Green Fields for the greenery. I die cut out a spring from fun foam and then mounted the stamped image onto the foam and then the whole item onto the card. I like the colors in this card. Thank you for visiting my blog. In the comments below, let me know which card you like best: hydrangea or the flower sprig. Have a wonderful day and I hope you try out Altenew's layering stamp sets.
