Welcome to the newest Paint a Flower African Daisy. This month's Paint-A-Flower is a beautiful scene of daisies and I am sharing three cards that I made by watercoloring it three different ways. If you are following along with the hop today you have just come from the amazing Lilith Eeckels and your next stop is my fellow New England Crafty Girl, Bridget Casey. All information about the hop and giveaway are on the Altenew Blog.
The PAF African Daisy was generously gifted to me by Altenew. Please read on for more information on how I used the PAF African Daisy and Altenew Artist's Watercolor set to make these cards. Watercoloring 3 Ways
Background wash with heat embossed image
Using embossing ink, I stamped the first image, I masked that image off and then stamped again. Altenew white embossing powder was sprinkled over the embossing ink and then heat set. I used the largest brush, a size 18 flat brush, from the Artist's Watercolor Brush set, added water to a piece of Altenew watercolor paper and then added Starry Night and Shades of Purple inks to wash over the background. After the panel dried, I added Satin White sequins and a sentiment from the set which I heat embossed with Altenew white embossing powder. I love how easy this card is to make and the ethereal dreamy look of this card.
Loose watercoloring
For the second card example, I stamped the image twice with embossing ink. Altenew Platinum embossing powder was sprinkled over the embossing ink and then heat set. I added water to each image and then dropped in Tea Party, Warm and Cozy, Summer Afternoon and Red Cosmos inks. The leaves had Tropical Forest and Pocketful of Sunshine inks. This card is really easy to paint and has such a loose organic look to it.
Watercolor each image
For this third card example, the image was stamped using embossing ink. Altenew Antique Gold embossing powder was sprinkled over the embossing ink and then heat set. Using the Altenew Artists' Watercolor brush set, I colored each flower and leaf using the Altenew Artist's watercolor pan set. I love the bright colors of this card.

All 3 are gorgeous! Love how quick first card could be done, and the loose watercoloring on second is lovely impressionistic style, and 3rd the fine detail coloring, great work. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite is the loose watercolor. I think it is the double stamping of the image and the bright colors that attract me the most.
