Welcome to an amazing blog hop honoring the Craft Your Life kit: Garden Rose. The Craft Your Life kit is a monthly release of a stamp set, coordinating dies, stencil and 3D embossing folder. If you are joining in the hop, you have just come from Laurie Willison and your next stop is Preeti Chandran.
For my card designs today I used an eclipse and die inlay technique. I was generously gifted this kit so I could share inspiration with you. Each craft your life kit has been amazing each month. Let me know if you are a fan of the Craft Your Life kits. Craft Your Life
The cards I have for you today use the stamp set and coloring stencil that comes with the kit. Using the stamp set and masking stencils, I made a floral scene on one card and on the other, I used a second generation stamping technique using just the floral outline stamps. After the stamping, I die cut HELLO using the Bold Alpha Caps dies and then swapped the letters so that the colorful letters were pasted into the second generation outline card and the gray letters were pasted into the colorful card. What do you think of this technique?
Eclipse Technique with Die Inlay
With this first card, I stamped the outline in Pure Graphite ink and the detail layers of the flowers in Red Cosmos and Cherry Blossom. The leaves were colored using the coloring stencil with Green Valley inks. The HELLO was due cut from this panel and the next and two more times. I stacked the letters to give HELLO a bit of rise above the card front and then glued them onto the card base.
Second Generation Stamping
This card was stamped immediately after the first using a technique called second generation stamping. This soft, gray outline complements the bright HELLO letters cut out of the first card.
Please check out a video I made showing how I created these two cards.

What a fun way to use the stamps for a not too traditional take on roses.
